5/3/2023 0 Comments Ionic smartwatch![]() ![]() The Ionic's geometric design and squarish face make it hard to dress up, even when I swapped out the default gray strap for Fitbit's brown leather band. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Fitbit Ionic looks a lot better in person than it does in pictures. Still, the Ionic does make some sense, as long as you aren't expecting a complete suite of smartwatch features. The Ionic feels more like a fitness tracker with just enough smartwatch features to justify calling itself one, but doesn't have the full functionality we've come to expect from the category. ![]() The Fitbit Ionic arrives at a time when the definition of a smartwatch is coalescing. This is Fitbit's most ambitious launch in years, which is timely given that 2017 marks the company's tenth anniversary.
